One thing that I think that is overly underated in this city is entertainment. I hear many people always complaining that there is nothing to do in this city.
So untrue.
There is so much entertainment in Detroit, it's ridiculus. There is something for everyone in the city. I for one, like sports. The sports atmosphere can't get any better here in Detroit. You have the Tigers, Red Wings, and Lions who all play downtown. What's great about this is that after a good game, you can head to Hockeytown Cafe or even head to the Fox Theatre for the latest performance or musical.
During the summer, Hart Plaza also becomes a focal point of entertainment because of the many festivals that come there. Just recently the Electronic Music Festival was held there and had one of the greatest turnouts they've ever had. This weekend is the Red Bull Air Race which I know will be exciting. I would've gotten some tickets but my budget really can't afford them right now :(
Of course you also have the Greektown area and you also now have two casino resorts with excellent restaurants and musical entertainer that come to town.
If you're the clubbing type, there are plenty of clubs for you to go to as well. I can't list all the entertainment options in Detroit, but please check out www.detroit-travel-guide.com for more.

Pistons Last Stand...
So tonight the Pistons will try to stave off elimination for what, the third straight year in the Eastern Conference Finals. You never want to count this team out because I do recall them pulling this exact same feat in 2005 where they were down 3-2 to Miami, proceeded to blow out the Heat in game 6, then they won a tight game 7 on the road in Miami. So yes they can do it, but thwen have they done it recently is the question. The Pistons always talk about how "if it ain't rough, it ain't right", but lately in the past two years under Saunders, it has been rough, but it is far from right.
They did give me hope in game 5 when they brought it to within 1 point. I had gotten my wisdom teeth out that day and all of a sudden during their comeback, I completely forgot about the pain in my mouth. Then they lost, and I once again remembered how badly my mouth was hurting along with the mild pain of them once again rallying too late to try to win a game. But despite the loss, I never give up on this team because you can never predict what they are going to do. I mean, you didn't expect them to win game two, only to come home and lay an egg in game 3. I would say that I fully expect this to go to a game 7 and you heard it here first:
Pistons 97
Celtics 84
That's the score I'm predicting for tonight's game. Game 7 is a whole 'nother story.
